Championing student success through sponsorship of our local FFA chapter.
“Future Farmers of America” was founded by a group of young farmers in 1928. Their mission was to prepare future generations for the challenges of feeding a growing population. They taught us that agriculture is more than planting and harvesting – it’s a science, it’s a business and it’s an art.
Today, the National FFA Organization remains committed to the individual student, providing a path to achievement in premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
The Cypress Falls High School FFA Chapter encourages its members to always make new friends, go new places and try new things. FFA prepares members in developing leadership and life skills that will shape their decision-making and values for the rest of their lives. FFA students are offered courses in Livestock Production, Ag Mechanics and Metal Technology, Ag Facility Design and Fabrication, Animal Science, Horticulture Science and Floral Design, Principles of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources, Animal Management, and more. Members have the opportunity to thrive through the benefits of leadership skills, agriculture knowledge, healthy living, confidence, good sportsmanship, work ethic, community service, lifelong friendships, and individual and team experiences.
This past year we were proud to assist numerous students reach their goal to attend and show at the Houston Livestock Show at the NRG Convention Center. Several Cy-Falls FFA students placed in their animal project class and were awarded by the HLSR committees and buyers auction. Another group of students participated in the annual HLSR calf scramble. Participants from Cypress Falls included: Trinity Harrison, Gabrielle Byrne, and Abby Cline. Gabrielle pulled her calf across the line and was awarded sponsorship to purchase and raise a heifer or steer for the 2022 Houston Livestock Show.
The National FFA Motto is: Learning to do, doing to learn, earning to live, living to serve. These young adults will be our leaders of tomorrow and we are proud to support the Cypress Falls FFA Chapter and each member in their personal goals and endeavors.
